Did anyone see it? If you did, then you probably noticed how bright it was for a few seconds.

It was a meteor, which was apparently noticed by many on Sunday morning, just after midnight. Because of the time of night it came across the sky, it makes sense that many missed it.

According to WGRZ, the meteor was reported by over 200 from Toronto to Virginia, and it was also seen right here in Western New York.

WGRZ reports Julie in Cheektowaga caught the meteor on her doorbell camera, and you can definitely see it was in fact a meteor.

Tim Collins, a Kellogg Observatory astronomer, says that it was a random event. He added that these kind of sightings can happen, but it's nothing to be scared of.

Collins predicts the meteor entered Earth's atmosphere in Ontario and traveled across Western New York and beyond. We don't know where it landed, however. It could be the Atlantic Ocean, but we'll never know for sure.

I'm always up until 3 am with my on-air shift, even on the weekends, so I was up for this meteor sighting but sadly, I was in my living room and not outside.

Did anyone see this meteor? We can see it was captured over Cheektowaga, but curious if others have a story or image of it.
