Yesterday, the Sabres released the schedule for their special theme night. The first theme night will be on October 14th, which is the team's home opener.  They will host Montreal that night.

Other special theme nights include:

Val James Night on November 6th against Detroit. Val James was the first African American player to play in the NHL. He made his debut in 1981 for the Buffalo Sabres and would go on to play in 7 games that season for the Sabres.

Native American Heritage Night on December 11th against Washington. The Sabres will honor Native Americans that night by celebrating their cultures and bringing awareness to indigenous stories.

Hometown Heroes Night on January 6th against San Jose. The Sabres will thank local heroes with special tributes to the local military, first responders, and frontline workers throughout the evening.

Pride Night on March 10th against Las Vegas. On this night, Sabre players will wear special warm-up jerseys and there will be activations throughout the evening celebrating love and acceptance. The first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive Pride rally towels.

Fan Appreciation Day and RJ's Last Call on April 29th against Chicago. The Sabres will honor all the fans for their support during the season. The team will also honor the team's longtime broadcast Rick Jeanneret who will be making his last call for the team before heading into retirement.
