Two Cities In NY Make List Of Best Places To Celebrate Christmas

When it comes to celebrating Christmas, it's a little like buying a house.  It's all about location, location, location.

The famous song says that there's no place like home for the holidays.  That's certainly true if you live in New York State.

Recently, two cities in the Empire State made a list of "2022's Best Places For Christmas" The study was done by Wallethub and it was based on "32 key indicators of a festive and affordable Christmas, such as traditions, shopping, and costs."

Both New York City and Buffalo, NY scored in the top 20 on their list of the best places.  New York came in at #9 and Buffalo was at #16.  When ranking things like the traditions and fun that the city can provide for someone who is coming there to celebrate, New York topped the list.  Obviously, there is a ton to do there when it comes to Christmas from ice skating in the park to checking out the tree in Rockefeller Center.

New York also scored high in their shopping options and generosity.

Buffalo did well in the category of "Observance."  In that category they were looking at the share of the Christian population and the number of churches per capita.  Buffalo was #2 on that list.  They were also in the upper third of the cities studied when it came to shopping.
