Open Letter To Bills Fans After Lamar Jackson Shove
The first Sunday Night Football matchup of the 2025/26 NFL Season was a game for ages. Fans, pundits, players, and other folks will spend years talking about the game that the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills played on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Highmark Stadium in Buffalo.
Not only did the Bills complete an epic, nearly impossible comeback win in the final minutes of the game, but several team and NFL records were set by both teams during the contest. Now it's likely too early in the season to say this, but I'm confident we have a contender for the game of the year... And it was only week one.
As great as that game was, there are a couple of things that happened during the game that were not so great, and I think we can all agree that it should never, ever, happen again.
Open Letter To Bills Fans After Lamar Jackson Shove
There were two incidents in particular that happened at Highmark Stadium on Sunday that, frankly, in my opinion, were a disgrace, and any members of the Bills Mafia who were either associated with this or condone it should be ashamed of themselves.
Bills Fan Threw a Water Bottle at Derrick Henry
With just under 12 minutes left in the fourth quarter, Ravens running back Derrick Henry scampered into the end zone on a huge scoring run, which gave the Ravens a 40-25 lead.
As Henry entered the end zone, a full bottle of water was thrown from the stands onto the field, just missing Henry by inches.
Bills Fan Hits Both Lamar Jackson and DeAndre Hopkins In The Head
Before Derrick Henry put what most thought was the final nail in the coffin, Lamar Jackson had tossed an absolute dime to DHop, who snagged one-handed in the middle of double coverage to score a touchdown. That play was one of many that had people thinking the Bills were on the way to losing that game.
While celebrating the score at the back of the end zone, a Bills fan reached out and hit both players in the head. Lamar Jackson, rightfully so, pushed the fan back. That fan, who was ejected from the game, has since been banned from Highmark Stadium and any other NFL facility.
This highlights something that needs to be plainly said.
Dear Bills Fans, Keep Your Hands Off Players From Opposing Teams
I know we get passionate here in Buffalo. We simply love our teams so much that our emotions can get out of control. But we know better.
Shame on any and everyone at who acted out at this game. It is uncalled for and does not represent what we stand for in the city of Good Neighbors.
