Bills Wide Receiver Appeared Injured Today At Bills Mini-Camp
The Buffalo Bills are looking to find who will fill the shoes of Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis this year and today, the Bills took a step in the wrong direction.
It's mini-camp time
The Buffalo Bills are holding their mandatory offseason mini-camp at One Bills Drive like many other teams in the NFL as they get ready for the 2024 season. Today was the first day of the mandatory camp. This year, it's particularly important that they have as much time as possible together before the season actually starts because there are so many new players on the roster.
There are a lot of new players on the team this year
This has probably been one of the biggest changes to the roster since Josh Allen has gotten here, at least on the offensive side. There's a good chance that many of the people he will be throwing the ball to were not on the team last year. The front office is hoping that there will be some fast developing chemistry between Allen and his new receivers.
Khalil Shakir appeared to be injured
One of the receivers that Allen is already pretty familiar with is Khalil Shakir. He was a late-round draft pick who really showed some positive progress last year. He's also one of the only returning wide receivers available this year for Josh.
Unfortunately, according to Billswire, Shakir appeared to suffer an injury during some 7-on-7 drills during camp today. It appears to be a lower body injury.
The good news is that he was able to jog off the field on his own, but it does appear as though he had a bit of a limp as he was leaving.
Hopefully it's nothing serious that will stay with the young receiver or be a nagging injury that affects his year. The good news is that its early so hopefully if it's not anything serious, he will have some time to recover quickly.
