Dick Cheney, the Republican party giant and former Vice President of the United States has died at the age of 84.

During his career he served under both Nixon and Bush.

How did former Vice President Dick Cheney die?

Cheney died last night due to complications of pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease. His family released a statement on Tuesday morning:

“His beloved wife of 61 years, Lynne, his daughters, Liz and Mary, and other family members were with him as he passed. Dick Cheney was a great and good man who taught his children and grandchildren to love our country, and to live lives of courage, honor, love, kindness, and fly fishing,

“We are grateful beyond measure for all Dick Cheney did for our country. And we are blessed beyond measure to have loved and been loved by this noble giant of a man.”

Of course, politics is such a polarizing thing in the United States, but at the end of the day, Cheney served our country for a long, long time in a job that is never easy and relaxing.

The infamous hunting incident:

Cheney was one time hunting in the woods with a friend when he accidentally shot him in the face. They were on a quail hunting trip in Texas when Bush shot his friend. The way that the incident unfolded was strange. All of the people involved said that a different date as to when the incident happened--the guy who got shot, the guy who did the shooting and the woman who owned the property that was all hunting on.
