If you do see a tornado, they encourage you to go into your house or in a vehicle to take cover. The best place to be inside your house is in the basement, or a small central room in a sturdy structure.
Along with tornados, you will often see heavy rain, flash flooding, thunder, and lightning. They remind people that if you are in your vehicle, don't try to drive through flooded areas.
