Whether you love the cold and snow or not, it's something that you have to deal with living in New York State. Since it comes every year at about the same time, why not make the best of it?

There are great places all over the 716 to do winter activities like hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, and ice skating, but what if you want to head across the border to Canada and explore some winter locations in the 905 and 416?

If you happen to take a quick trip across the Peace Bridge into Southern Ontario and want to get on the ice for a bit, here are a few places for you to check out where you can lace up your skates.

Wayne Gretzky Estates Winery

If you take a quick trip to Niagara-On-The-Lake you will find a pretty amazing outdoor skating rink at the Wayne Gretzky Estates Winery & Distillery that features a whiskey bar and a DJ on Saturday nights.

The Bentway

Can you imagine ice skating under an 8-lane elevated highway, if so, then you have to check out one of the coolest things to come to Southern Ontario in a while. This location is right off Fort York Boulevard near Lake Shore, just a few blocks from Toronto's Exhibition Place.
