Believe it or not, down in the Niagara Gorge next to the American Falls, a staircase allows someone to walk just about halfway up the rock wall and stand right along the edge of the waterfalls.
That staircase is called the Crows Nest, and it truly offers a unique and awe-inspiring view of the American Falls. You have to see it for yourself to believe how amazing it is. The view of the falls from the Crows Nest is so good that New York State has decided to spend around $9 million to make some improvements to the spot.

As part of New York State's Get Offline, Get Outside campaign, taxpayer money will be spent to extend the walkway from the gorge to Prospect Point and improve the infrastructure around Niagara Falls State Park.
Officials expect the project to begin in September 2024 and be completed in early 2026. This will not only improve the views of Niagara Falls but also help move people into and out of the gorge quicker.
These are the kind of projects that show how great of an area we live in.
