Winter is here in New York, and the prices for everything are on the rise, but there is one way you can save money and still stay safe: you can make your own sidewalk de-icer. The best part is that it is really easy to make and you probably already have all the items needed to make it.

How To Make The Best Homemade De-Icer

STEP ONE:

Start with a gallon-sized pitcher or container.

If you find that this is not enough for your sidewalks and porches, you can double or triple the amount and make more. You can also make more than you need right now and keep it stored to use in the future or have it on hand in case you run out of salt or store-bought de-icer.
