Record Shattering Day At The Erie County Fair

The weather was perfect, people were waiting all year for it, and it showed.

Western New Yorkers count down the days until the Erie County Fair every year and the Fair does one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

On opening day of the Fair, they waive the price of admission if you donate at least four canned food items to FeedMore WNY. FeedMore WNY works to prevent and help those people who are food insecure across Western New York.

Over the years, the number of people who have needed help from FeedMore WNY has increased, but the good news is that the donations collected at the Erie County Fair have increased as well.

What an amazing accomplishment not only by the Erie County Fair, but by all the fairgoers as well. That was a huge donation.

Of course, opening day is just the first day of the "12 Best Days of Summer." If you are like me, you will head to the fair a couple of times to see everything, eat everything, and ride everything.
