On Monday, millions of workers in New York State will be a bump in their pay.

The minimum wage for 2023 was $14.20 for New York State outside of New York City, Westchester, and Long Island. As part of the New York State budget, the minimum will increase every year from 2024 until 2026.

New York State is being proactive in making sure that minimum wage workers get their new pay raise in 2024. If you are a minimum wage worker and don't see an increase in your pay, you can contact the New York State Department of Labor’s website or call 1-833-910-4378.

According to the New York State Department of Labor, an increase in the minimum wage over several years will allow businesses to adjust to the increase over a period of time increase of just all at once.

New York State Department of Labor Commissioner Roberta Reardon said, "The elevation of the minimum wage serves as lifeline for New Yorkers struggling to make ends meet as costs rise. Steady, multi-year changes allow businesses time to adjust while providing low-wage workers the ability to better support themselves and their families."
