Every single year, we seem to officially reach spring and yet Mother Nature throws one last winter curveball our way. Snow in early April isn't that uncommon, but usually it's not really anything that will accumulate. This year will be a different story.

In case you haven't heard, there's a cold front that will tear through Western New York and the northeast. It will bring cold air and yes, snow. Maybe even lots of snow.

According to this weather model from WHAM-TV in Rochester, parts of New York State could see a foot or more of snow through Thursday evening.

While those regions upstate and near Syracuse might not see a foot, it sure looks like at least a half a foot could fall on April Fool's Day, based on other models on Monday.

But what about Western New York?

According to WIVB 4 Warn Weather, a few inches is possible. Perhaps up to three inches in Buffalo and 3-6 inches further east and south of the metro.

The high on Thursday in Buffalo will only be 33 with a low of 24...in April!

The good news is the weather will improve drastically for Easter Weekend. All sunshine and low 50s for Saturday and Easter Sunday.

If you put away your jacket, shovel or snowbrush, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you might want to dig it out for Thursday. Hopefully they can go away until November after April 1st.
