Restrictions In WNY Could Be Lifted This Week
Governor Andrew Cuomo hinted at COVID-19 restrictions being lifted in New York State.
WIVB reports that Cuomo plans to make an announcement on restrictions potentially being lifted on Wednesday.
“You watch the dials, watch the positivity rate, watch the hospitalization rate, watch the rt rate. When they’re down, open up the valve and allow more economic activity through the pipes,” Cuomo said.
Restaurants are currently allowed to have indoor dining (up to four people per table) after a lawsuit win two weeks ago, but technically much of Erie County is still in the orange zone.
While many businesses are currently opened, the loss of revenue and reduction of capacities have been hard, but many look forward to the impending announcement, including Michael Biscotto, the owner of Lion’s ManSalon in Williamsville.
“Obviously our biggest hope is to be full capacity, that would be really nice. At this point, we’re used to all the restrictions and everything we have to do, so it’s just business as usual right now. We’re making it happen but we would love to be back to normal like everyone would, I’m sure," said Biscotto.
When the announcement is made by Governor Cuomo, we will let you know.
