The arrival of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage Season 2 left us wondering what next the Marvel Netflix universe might build toward. No official return for The Defenders has yet been confirmed, and star Krysten Ritter now ominously suggests “I don’t think we are doing it again.”

The man without fear’s most iconic adversary will finally return to Hell’s Kitchen. A new post from Daredevil social media confirms that Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin will return for the coming third season, having sat out The Defenders.

The combined might of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist was enough to take out The Defenders’ biggest foes, but perhaps not enough to hook viewers. Reports indicate that Defenders may have been the least-viewed premiere of all Marvel’s Netflix series in its first month.

Streaming markets are still evolving, between features available, tiered subscriptions, pricing and more, and Netflix, granddaddy of them all, will soon up their prices without a majority of customers realizing. Say goodbye to those grandfathered into the Standard Netflix subscription, as you’ll be forking over an additional $2.00 each month without realizing.
