3 New York Cities Named Best In Nation For Winter Getaway
Dreaming of a winter vacation? Well, you don't have to leave New York State to enjoy the highest-ranking US cities for a cozy winter vacation getaway!
"Are you dreaming of a vacation getaway? Whether you getting antsy for adventure or just seeking an escape from the craze of the holiday season, this newest city study from moveBuddha has ranked the best cities across the nation for both those who embrace the cold or would rather seek out some warmer temps," a moveBuddha spokesperson told Hudson Valley Post in an email.
moveBuddha selected 20 "Winter Getaway Cities" by dividing them into four distinct categories:
- Snow & Slope
- Sun & Sand
- Cozy & Cuddly
- Trails & Trekking
New York State dominated one list. Can you guess?
Of course, it's not Sun & Sand. Honolulu was the top location for some fun in the sun this Winter.
Corpus Christi, TX, Port St. Lucie, FL, San Diego, CA and St. Petersburg, FL rounded out the top five.
Breckenridge, CO was named the best place to hit the slopes.
Enterprise, Nevada topped the Trails and Trekking List.
Cozy and Cuddly is where New York placed three out of five, including the top spot. Below is the top 5:
"Upstate New York near Lake Ontario is the ultimate location for an ultra-cozy winter home. Our first, third, and fourth ranked cities are located here: Utica, Greece, and Syracuse. You’ll have plenty of snow to build forts and snowmen with, as each of these cities are accustomed to accumulating over 100 inches of frozen precipitation each year," moveBuddha writes about New York.
