Music has always been used as a medium for political discourse, and so many songs can be considered anthems that inspire a nation.

As November 6 (a.k.a. Election Day) approaches, you're probably wondering what songs you should jam to while walking into the voting booth. Don't worry; we've got you covered. Just make sure you take the headphones off before pulling the lever.

"Born in the U.S.A." -- Bruce Springsteen

This song just screams "I'm American, and I'm proud." Springsteen wrote it in 1984 as a tribute to his friends who fought in the Vietnam War. Listen to this if you're still questioning Barack Obama's birth certificate.

"Let's Roll" -- Neil Young

Neil Young released this song in November 2001 after the 9/11 attacks and the tragedy of Flight 93. It's a tribute to Todd Beamer, one of the passengers who fought off the hijackers on Flight 93. Beamer called an operator to explain that they were going to rush the terrorists, and before hanging up the phone, he told the other passengers, "Let's roll."

"American Idiot" -- Green Day

Ever feel like the country is headed in a bad direction? This is your anthem. Billie Joe Armstrong was fed up with the state of the nation -- most obviously the media and propaganda surrounding politics -- and this song is perfect if you're still wondering who will lead the country the best for the next four years.

"Uprising" -- Muse

This is one of the best songs to motivate you to seek change when you enter that voting booth. Essentially an anthem that pushes for power for the people, this song will inspire you to make a change and could even spark a political revolution.

"Waiting on the World to Change" -- John Mayer

While Mitt Romney argues Obama hasn't made any changes during the past four years, you can listen to this song and contemplate if that's true. This song is also an anthem for the undecided voter -- if you're not sure what you stand for, John Mayer understands you.
