Pizza is a big deal in Western New York, and these seven spots are places you might be sleeping on.

Buffalo is known for its wings, beef on 'weck, and, yes, their own style of pizza. It's not thick; it's not thin. It's not Chicago, but it's not New York. It's a hearty slice that often comes with cup 'n char pepperoni and a tomato sauce many would call sweet. Buffalo Pizza is VERY cheesy, as well. It's delicious and usually surprises people from out town with how unique and good it is.

There are several well-known spots that locals have gone to for years, and tourists regularly visit. Bocce Club, La Nova, Imperial, and Picasso's are just some of the most well-known Buffalo Pizza spots, and rightfully so. They have been serving the great people of Western New York for decades and earned their reputation as the go-to spots. Still, there are many fantastic pizza places in the region that only locals know about. They may not have the history or marketing as some of these posts, but that doesn't mean that they don't make incredible pizza. In fact, many would argue these spots are better than the most well-known ones. That's for you to decide, though.
