The unofficial start to summer is coming this weekend as we get ready for Memorial Day. But what will the weather look like for the backyard party that you have planned?

The National Weather Service office in Buffalo,NY is forecasting rain for Friday.

The weather has been pretty dry for the region over the better part of May. However, we do need some rain and although the timing could be better, it looks like a soaking rain will be here to end the week.

I admit, I am one of those that complained it was too wet, then too dry! Our weather has been so back and forth and now that we have flowers and grass seed growing, I look forward to a productive but not destructive rain. I drive past many farms each day and have noticed the sprinklers and irrigation systems cranking up. In Eden, the corn is growing and if we are going to be "knee high by the Fourth of July" a good amount of rain will be helpful.

Have a great weekend and try to make the most of Sunday and Monday. As of now, those days look perfect for getting together outdoors. Fire up the grill! Just a reminder to take to time remember the reason why we have the day off Monday and honor the memory of those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom!
