Server At Anchor Bar Scolds Tourists For Doing This
You need to follow specific rules when you’re in Buffalo, New York.
It doesn’t matter if you live here or are just passing through - Buffalonians have hard and steadfast ideas of how things should be, and they don’t apologize for that.
A group of tourists allegedly found this out the hard way while grabbing lunch at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport.
A user on Reddit recently posted that while having lunch at the airport location of Anchor Bar, they overheard a group of tourists being hilariously scolded by their server about their order.
The post reads, “Waiter to table full of tourists: “I’m not going to give you ranch because you are adults, but here is some blue cheese.”
Needless to say, some Buffalo Reddit users were thrilled by the server’s anecdote and showed their appreciation in the comments.
“And then everyone clapped.”
“That waiter’s name? Josh Allen.”
Other commenters expressed that they thought the server’s cheeky response was out of line.
“I can understand saying “the traditional Buffalo pairing is with bleu cheese so I’ll bring that for you with your ranch and you can try both” but straight up ignoring their request and even going as far as insulting them just blows my mind.”
I’m sure this particular server wasn’t trying to be rude. In fact, we should all celebrate this person for standing up for Buffalo’s values. This server did those clueless tourists a huge favor and saved them from wing-dipping embarrassment. Plus, if you’re visiting Buffalo for the first time, don’t you want to eat wings like the tried-and-true Buffalonians do?
It doesn’t if these Buffalo visitors were just here for a few hours on a layover or if this was their only chance to check out the famous wing joint on their trip to the Nickel City - the rules still apply, people. Ranch dressing is unacceptable to order with your wings. This is a blue cheese town.
Welcome to Buffalo.
Besides ranch, here are some other things Buffalonians hate when it comes to food.
