Animal Control Brings Joy To A 'Jailed' Raccoon In Amherst

A female raccoon that was 'jailed' so to speak, in an Amherst storm drain is happy to be FREE once again.

Amherst Animal Control was called to Telfair Drive and Hershey Court according to WIVB-TV and after attempts were unsuccessful in freeing the trapped raccoon they called the Amherst Highway Department, and with their help, the grate with the raccoon still attached was removed and taken to the Erie County SPCA Wildlife Department.
