Expert Grades of the Buffalo Bills 2022 Draft Class
Well, the 2022 NFL draft is officially in the books. How are we feeling about things Bills Mafia?
8 players were selected over the weekend in Las Vegas and added to the Bills 2022 roster. The team addressed the need at CB, added RB depth, and bulked up the WR corps. Plus, they drafted the "Punt God" which is a win in and of itself.
The reaction on a local level seems very positive, but we decided to look around the rest of the country to see what people think of the job done by Brandon Beane and company, at 1 Bills Drive.
Here's a look at 5 NFL analysts' takes on the Bills' 2022 Draft Class.
CBS SPORTS - Pete Prisco: Buffalo Bills: B
This team doesn't have a lot of holes, but they filled a big one with Elam. Cook was a bit of a surprise, but I did like fifth-round receiver Khalil Shakir. This is the team to beat in the AFC.
NFL.COM - Chad Reuter: Buffalo Bills: A
The Bills got the cornerback they needed in Round 1 by trading up to select Elam, Cook was exactly the sort of speedy receiving threat the team needed at the running back position, and Bernard helped fill a hole on the defense's second level
PROFOOTBALLNETWORK.COM - Ian Cummings - Buffalo Bills: B
THE DRAFT NETWORK - Joe Marino - Buffalo Bills: B+
The Bills did a fantastic job of addressing remaining needs at cornerback, running back, wide receiver that offers return ability, linebacker depth, and punter. While outside of Shakir the class lacks plus values, the players were picked in the appropriate range and the Bills are positioned well from a roster perspective entering a season where expectations couldn’t be higher.
All in all, it seems like a job well done. Plus, it's gotta feel good to see a Boston sports reporter call the Bills the best team in the AFC East.
GO BILLS!
