No, really, it will. Everything is going to be OK. Not because we know this, but because there's plenty of evidence to suggest it's true.

The Buffalo Bills have done this in 3 straight seasons: lose 2 in a row right around this point and look terrible doing it. In fact, you could argue that they looked worse last year when they dropped 2 in a row. In all three seasons, they battled back and made runs toward a Super Bowl. They came up short, of course, but we're focusing on the now.

Is it acceptable? No! Of course not. They are underachieving and full of excuses right now for simply not being ready to play their best. It has all of us bickering and calling for people's jobs, myself included. I can't stand the way Bobby Babich's defense looks. It's timid, weak, and not a playoff-caliber unit, to borrow a term from the Bills. It wasn't good enough last year, either. Look at the playoffs, when it mattered. Still, he could get them going in the right direction like he did last year during the regular season. He has to get them to stop playing timidly and start doing what they do best: making plays on the ball and flying around the field with their speed. They look scared to make mistakes, and that can't be how they play. Maybe Babich gets them back on schedule, and based on the past, it's likely he will.

The offense has Josh Allen. They probably need a receiver at the trade deadline. Still, they have Josh Allen. 2 bad games do not mean the offense is doomed... because they have Josh Allen.

Also, it's early. While Patriots fans are claiming they are back and taking the division with them, I'd like to remind them, and more importantly, all of us Bills fans, that it's still early. We have not reached the halfway point yet of this season. SO MUCH could change, including this team's perspective. The trade deadline is looming as well, and you never know what Brandon Beane will pull off. The Bills have 4 areas of need they have to improve, be it through trades or internal improvements.

Fans Calling for People's Jobs

People are calling for Beane's job. I think that's ridiculous. He has not had the best drafting record, yet he's put together a Super Bowl-caliber roster year in and year out. He does need to draft better, but let's also keep in mind that he's not getting the best draft positions, and that's a good thing.

Others are calling for Sean McDermott's job. The thing is, he doesn't play the game. Sure, he needs to make sure his players are prepared, but he can't make them get "up" for a game. He can't make them execute the calls. Maybe he does need to do a better job of prepping them, and maybe he needs to take a play-calling on the defense back. Still, history shows McDermott gets this team back on track, with vengeance, after losing a couple like this.

The point of all of this is to say to all of Bills Mafia: calm down. Yes, it looks bad right now, but it's two games. They likely get back to winning this week in Carolina.

If they don't... ignore what I said and THEN panic.
