There are still no words that can truly describe the heartbreak that the east side of Buffalo is feeling after Saturday's senseless racist attack.

A gunman claimed the lives of 10 and injured three more in what police call a racially motivated attack, which took place at the Tops on Jefferson Avenue.

While the mourning will continue, the Buffalo and Western New York community have stepped up to donate money, food and volunteer their time to help the community, including those directly impacted by Saturday's attack.

On Wednesday, the Buffalo Bills and NFL Foundations donated $400,000 to help response efforts on Buffalo's east side. On the same day, the Bills players, coaches and staff were at Jefferson Avenue in Buffalo to help serve food and volunteer their time to those in need in the community.

This is from Matt Bove of WKBW.

Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs and other Bills players were seen bringing flowers to the scene of the aftermath.

Buffalo Sabres and Bandits players are also on scene to help the community and serve lunch. All the players and coaches are wearing matching black T-shirts that say, "choose love."

Amazing gesture by the Bills, Sabres and Bandits. To have this many players and coaches at the scene and donating their time is heartwarming.

If you're looking to help in any way you can, there is a community resource document that will provide you with ways to donate, locations and a variety of resources.
