Former Bills Executive Honored By Pro Football Hall Of Fame

By all accounts, the Buffalo Bills are having a good season this year. From officially making the playoffs for the seventh straight year to sending three players to the 2025/26 NFL Pro Bowl, things are going well at One Bills Drive.

Now, that doesn't mean that things are perfect, far from it, but overall, the NFL franchise that Ralph Wilson started more than 60 years ago is alive and well.

One of the things that has helped the team achieve success is a relatively well-run front office. From the two families who have owned the team over the last 6 decades to all the men and women who make sure the team works effectively. If, for some reason, you needed proof of that, it was just confirmed by the Pro Football Hall of Fame that a long-time member of the Bills organization is being given a special award in Canton.

Former Bills VP Scott Berchtold Receives Hall of Fame Awards of Excellence

The Bills organization has had some special people work for the team over the years, many of whom have made major contributions to the league. One of those people, Scott Berchtold, has made such a positive impact on the team and the league over the years that he's getting an award from the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame established the Awards of Excellence in 2022 to recognize significant contributors to the game in "behind-the-scenes" roles. In addition to public relations personnel, the program honors career Assistant Coaches, Athletic Trainers, Equipment Managers and Film/Video Directors.

Berchtold started his NFL career with the Green Bay Packers in 1985 before coming to Buffalo in 1989, where he spent the next 34 years helping both the Bills and the NFL in several public relations and media capacities. In addition to helping the Bills with their 4 Super Bowls in the 1990s, he was tapped by the NFL to help with 28 other Super Bowls over the years and was selected as a PR Captain by the league.

This is just another example as to why the Bills are one of the best teams in the league. Congratulations Scott.
