Much like Amari Cooper, this receiver would be a game-changing threat to add for Josh Allen.

It used to be that the NFL trade deadline was quite around the league, let alone in Buffalo. That's changed significantly ever since General Manager Brandon Beane took control of the team. Beane has been aggressive, always looking for options to improve the BIlls now and in the future. He just pulled off a trade for Amari Cooper: a move that givers the Bills a legit number 1 option. Could they be adding another legit number 1?

According to a report on X, the Buffalo Bills have called the Los Angeles Rams about trading for Cooper Kupp.

This would be a massive deal for the Bills, who would be virtually unstoppable on offense with the addition of another Cooper in Kupp.

He was the offensive player of the year and Super Bowl MVP in 2021. That season, he compiled 145 catches for 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns, leading all receivers in all three categories. Those 1,947 yards are an NFL record for yards from scrimmage for a receiver.

Kupp has not had the same success over the past couple of seasons, having injury problems. He's already missed time this year with an injury. He recently returned, and the Rams have won two straight games, keeping their season alive.

Thoughts on the Bills and Rams Making the Trade

If the Rams think they have a shot, they won't trade Kupp. A team competing for a Super Bowl would never trade a player of that caliber. However, the Rams are getting older, and they need to start adding draft assets for the future eventually.

According to Sportrac, he has a whopping $29,780,000 cap hit this season. If the Bills were to trade for him, the Rams would have to restructure his contract and pay him up front and/or eat a lot of his salary.

What would it cost? Due to the salary aspect of a trade, it would probably cost the Bills at least a 2nd round pick. I don't know that Beane would do this. Kupp is older and injury-prone. They'd be carrying his salary through 2026, and it's a big number for an older player.
