Luke Knox was playing college football for Florida International University after transferring from Ole’ Miss. Police do not suspect foul play.

It has become a tradition that when bad things happen to players in Buffalo, fans step up with a gesture to a charity in their honor. This was no different.

Fans have been donating $16.88 to the PUNT Pediatric Cancer Collaborative. 16 was Luke's number, 88 is Dawson's number.

The number continues to grow, too.

Bills fans have also done things like this for QB Josh Allen when his grandmother passed away, donating millions to Oishei Children's Hospital in Buffalo. In that instance, they gave in $7 increments, Allen's number. They also gave to Baltimore QB Lamar Jackson's charity when he was injured playing the Bills in a playoff game here a couple of years ago. There are several more examples of Bills fans' charity as well.
