The Buffalo Bills are hard at work signing core players to extensions.  Another one just happened today.

The Buffalo Bills have agreed to another contract extension this offseason.  This time it's with defensive end Greg Rousseau.

This is the third big extension from the Bills in the past week.  They've also found a way to get wide receiver Khalil Shakir locked in for another couple of years, and yesterday they were able to get another key piece of their defense locked in by extending linebacker Terrel Bernard.

The deal is a 4-year extension for $80 million.  $54 million is guaranteed.  That makes him the 8th highest paid defensive end based on average salary.

The 2025 season was Rousseau's most productive season of his career with 8 sacks.  He also tallied 24 quarterback hits, 16 tackles for loss, 36 solo tackles and three forced fumbles.  His first season was pretty quiet compared to his last two and you would hope that he is just coming into his stride now.  Being able to learn from Von Miller has been a huge boost for him.

You would expect that the Bills aren't done yet.  Many are forecasting a big payday coming for cornerback Christian Benford who will need to be extended soon if the Bills want to hold on to him.

James Cook is another who has been pretty vocal about hoping to sign a bigger deal to stay with the Bills.  He's still under contract for another year but normally this is when these extensions happen.  We will see if he Bills feel like they are on the same page about what he's worth soon.
