Brandon Beane is getting to work signing the players that he needs on his roster.  Today he got another extension done with a key player on the defense.

Last week it was an offensive extension, today it was on the defensive side of the ball.

The Buffalo Bills have agreed to an extension with linebacker Terrel Bernard.

Bernard was a third-round pick in the 2022 draft and has become a very important part of this Buffalo Bills defense.  Seemingly coming from nowhere, he's jumped from being someone that no one had heard of to one of only two captains on the team last season.

It's a 4-year, $50M deal that will tie Bernard to the Bills through the 2029 season.  $25.2M of that deal is guaranteed.

It's a huge win for Bernard and the Bills.  They've struggled with injuries in their linebacking corps the past few years.  Injuries have plagued Matt Milano and through no fault of his own become a huge question mark on this team.  He's an animal when he's healthy.  The question is whether or not you can count on him being healthy.  They still have Dorian Williams who has shown some strides.

Many Bills fans are hoping for a huge splash move from General Manager Brandon Beane this offseason.  However, it appears as though he's taking steps to ensure that the players who have shown promise over the last couple of years get taken care of first.  Free agency doesn't begin until Wednesday (3/12).  He could wait on these deals to ensure he's got enough money to make those big moves, but instead, he's getting deals done now.  Expect to see more in the next couple of days as the offseason begins to heat up.
