Buffalo Bisons Will Set New Franchise Record Today

The Buffalo Bisons will be the first minor league baseball team to host a game in 2026. They are at home at Sahlen Field today, hosting Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and it is the very first minor league game of the year.

It is also a record-setting game for the Bisons. Today's opening day will be the earliest opening day in Buffalo Bisons history. There has never been an earlier opening day in the Bisons' history, and with opening day comes lots of fun things at the ballpark.

What To Expect At Buffalo Bills Opening Day

Today's Bisons game will start off with a first pitch from Buffalo Bills linebacker and Lancaster native Joe Andressen.

The Bisons are also expected to hand out a lot of free tickets to an upcoming Bisons game. The Bisons have an Opening Day temperature guarantee. If the temperature isn't 50 degrees at first pitch, everyone in attendance will get a free ticket to a future Bisons game. The current forecast calls for a high of 32, so it looks like everyone at the game today will get a free ticket.

On top of all that, the Bisons will be giving away a 2026 Magnetic Schedule Giveaway, compliments of Sahlen's, and will host a special pregame Happy Hour from Noon until 1 pm with $4 craft beers.

Buffalo Bisons Offering Kids Eat Free Deal This Weekend

As part of Opening Day weekend, the Bisons are offering a kids eat free weekend for Saturday and Sunday's games. The first 1,000 Kids through the Swan St. Gate will get a FREE Hot Dog/Soda/Cotton Candy voucher.

The Bisons are also offering $10 kids' tickets for Opening Day weekend and for the first 15 games of the year.
