Some chocolates have been recalled due to “undeclared milk.”

The Food and Drug Administration confirmed the news on Monday that TJX Companies, Inc. has recalled certain vegan chocolates after the discovery that there may have been some accidental dairy in recent batches of the treat.

There was at least one illness that has been linked to the vegan chocolates, and after some further examination, the recalled products were found to have been containing milk – even though the products were labeled to be “dairy-free.”

The affected chocolates were reportedly distributed at TJX retail stores across the country, including locations like T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, Sierra, and Homesense.

If you are lactose intolerant or have any kind of milk allergy, consuming these products can be life-threatening depending on the severity of your condition.

These affected chocolate products include:

  • "Pimlico Confectioners Vegan Fine Hazelnut Truffles” in a 3.88-ounce green plastic package.
  • “Keats London Vegan Hazelnut Dark Chocolate” in a 4.93-ounce round green plastic package.
  • “Keats London Vegan Irish Cream Truffles” in a 4.93-ounce round blue plastic package.

You can see pictures of the listed products here.

If you have purchased any of the above chocolates, you can return them to the store that they were purchased from. The customer service departments are also taking calls in regards to the recall, and they are available 9 am - 6 pm EST.
