Buffalo Joe Andreessen To Throw Out First Pitch At Bisons Home Opener
Not that you can tell from the weather, but the start of America's favorite summer pastime is getting ready to start, and folks who love Buffalo and baseball are in for a treat on Friday, March 27, 2026, when the Bisons kick off the 2026 MiLB season with their home opener at Sahlen Field in downtown Buffalo.
The Bisons, who have a fun-filled, packed schedule for the people of Western New York this year, are ready to play ball. The team's home opener on March 27th will be the earliest the Herd has taken the field to play baseball in the team's 141 seasons.
With spring on the way, the people of Buffalo are ready for some baseball, no matter how cool it may be in a couple of weeks.
Buffalo Bills Linebacker Joe Andreessen Is Throwing Out the Bisons' First Pitch
Buffalo sports fans will be in for a treat when baseball gets started on March 27th, as the partnership between the Bills and Bisons continues as the one and only Buffalo Joe is set to throw out the first pitch at 1:05.
Tickets to the home opener against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders are on sale now and can be bought online or at the Sahlen Field box office. This game is not only the season kick-off, but it starts a three-game homestand against the RailRiders at Sahlen Field.
Buffalo Joe has quickly become a hometown favorite since joining the Bills as a walk-on in the 2024 season. The Lancaster High School graduate went to the University at Buffalo before joining the hometown team.
To help celebrate Opening Day, have all sorts of activities planned for the weekend, including $10 tickets for kids, a meet and greet with the team mascots, and kids will be able to run the bases on Sunday.
