It's no secret that it's been a struggle for bar and restaurant owners in Western New York since the spring of 2020. Not just Western New York, but all over the country and the world, as we all try and continue to navigate through the pandemic.

Luckily, restaurants have been able to stay open in Western New York through 2021 and into 2022, but there are some uncertainties when it comes to the pandemic and the increasing numbers of infections from the Omicron variant.

One popular Buffalo bar and restaurant has decided to close temporarily; and it's one of the best go-to destinations for wings in Western New York.

According to their Facebook page, Nine-Eleven Tavern will be closed for the next two weeks, with plans to reopen at the end of January.

The reason is due to the surging COVID-19 numbers and the chance to give their staff, who has worked despite being understaffed, a chance to recharge.

The closing also gives them a chance to make repairs to the tavern.

If you're unfamiliar with Nine-Eleven Tavern, they're located on Bloomfield Ave. in South Buffalo. They're famous for their wings, and in my opinion, are in the top five for wings in all of Buffalo and Western New York. It's definitely a wings destination that only locals visit.

Hopefully, they can come back better than ever and it's very understandable why they're temporarily closing.
