The Buffalo Sabres were fighting for the final playoff spot this season but a loss to Dallas yesterday officially ended their hopes of making the playoffs this season.

After the loss to Dallas last night, Granato addressed the media but didn't talk about the 13-year playoff drought.

The Buffalo Sabres have now missed the playoffs for the past 13 years, which ties them with the New York Jets as the longest current playoff drought in Pro Sports in North America.

The last time the Sabres played in a playoff game was back in 2011 when they lost to the Philadelphia Flyers 5-2 on April 26th.

Since that day the Buffalo Sabres have not been to the playoffs and in many of those years, they were even close to making it.

Now the team will have to reaccess what they have in players, coaches, and front-office management.

Since Sabres head coach Don Granato took over the Sabres in 2020, the team has come close to making the playoffs but never got over the hump to make it.

The Sabres have three games remaining this season including a home game tomorrow night against Washington.
