*** UPDATE *** The NHL has announced that the Buffalo Sabres and Boston Bruins will play on Sunday. Time yet to be determined.

The Buffalo Sabres are in the NHL playoffs for the 1st time since the 2010-11 season and will have home ice advantage in the opening round against the Boston Bruins, so the big question is when is game one?

Buffalo Sabres Playoff Schedule

As of right now, we don't have a confirmed date on when the Buffalo Sabres will be hosting Boston in game one of the NHL playoffs. The game will either be this Saturday or Sunday.

My best guess is that the Sabres will be playing on Saturday afternoon. The reason I think that is all the Eastern Division teams played their final regular season game on Wednesday Night, while all the Western Division teams wrap up tonight.

Playing on Saturday would make sense for the Eastern Conference teams since then all teams in the NHL playoffs would have the time off between the regular season and the start of the playoffs. Each team would have two days off before they would play in game one of the playoffs.
