You are going to want to be up early on the morning of Thursday June 10th if you are interested in witnessing a portion of a solar eclipse.

It was just a couple of weeks ago that there was a lunar eclipse over the region and although this one will be an early morning event, Buffalo will get a glimpse.

According to timeanddate.com,

The annular phase of this solar eclipse is visible from parts of Russia, Greenland, and northern Canada. Weather permitting, those in Northern Asia, Europe, and the United States will see a partial eclipse.

Below is a chart that shows the times that eclipse will be most visible over both Rochester and Buffalo.

When the last lunar eclipse took place, I tried to catch a photo of the moon with the camera on my phone. It didn't go well. I really appreciate others who can take such clear and bright photos of the moon.

For whatever reason, I recall there was a solar eclipse on the same day that I got my drivers license when I turned 16. I remember driving home on my own that day and there was a weird sunset like glow in the middle of the day. Since we are up very early for the job, hopefully the weather will hold up and we can get a good look at the partial eclipse from the studio on Thursday morning.
