According to a report by WKBW-TV, Canada has started its reopening process and started loosening the restrictions for people who are fully vaccinated.

Soon Canadians who have traveled out of the country and are returning to Canada will no longer have to quarantine for 14 days inside fo a government-mandated hotel. Those Canadian citizens and residents who have been fully vaccinated and test negative on a COVID-19 test when they return to the country.

Since these new rules only apply to Canadian citizens and residents, that means things remain the same for American's who wish to travel into Canada for non-essential reasons.

The extended amount of time that the border has been closed has frustrated a lot of people in both countries, including many local politicians, to be frustrated with the decision. Local businesses have lost almost $1 Billion in revenue because of the lack of leisure travel.

Only time will tell if the Canadian government decides to open things up for Americans to be able to reenter the country.
