Gas Prices across the country seem to have leveled off but the good news is that here in New York we are still seeing the average price of a gallon of gas drop week to week.

Because gas prices can change on a daily basis and some places move the price several times a week, we broke down the cheapest gas prices by county across the state.

So if you are looking for a deal, you might have to do a bit of traveling, but if the next county over has some significant savings it might be worth the time and gas to fill up over the border.

The average price of a gallon of gas here in New York State is $3.593 which is down 7 cents from last week and almost 40 cents from the month of September. The current average is still 32 cents more expensive than what New York drivers paid in 2021.

Here are the counties that have the cheapest gas price per gallon of regular unleaded gas according to AAA.

Quite the difference in the price of gas from the cheapest county to the most expensive county. Hamilton County has the most expensive price for a gallon of gas at $3.939 per gallon. That is almost a 70-cent difference between the cheapest and most expensive.
