Check Out The Top 10 Running Backs In Buffalo Bills History [LIST]
Football is back here in Western New York, and members of Bills Mafia are ready to go!
There is a lot of anticipation for this upcoming season as the Bills are coming into this year as AFC East champions and are looking for another shot at getting to the AFC championship game and to the Super Bowl.
As we get ready for the season, it is always fun to look back at the history of the Buffalo Bills. We have had some amazing players and not-so-amazing people put on the Buffalo uniform and carry "The Rock" for the Bills.
From Hall of Famers like Thurman Thomas to players who didn't quite pan out like Travis Henry, the Bills backfield has seen lots of running back come and go since 1960. There have been high draft picks, undrafted free agents, players who came to Buffalo via trade, and players who left that the fans absolutely loved lined up behind the QB wearing the red, white, and blue.
For many years, the Bills were known for the K-Gun and had a high-tempo passing attack, but that offense wouldn't have worked without the ability to run. Some Buffalo coaches loved pounding the ball to wear out the opposing defense, while sometimes having a "Scat" back was perfect for Buffalo. Someone who could run and catch the ball. A duel-threat running back.
Over the years, Buffalo fans have only seen two running back collect over 10,000 for their career while wearing a Bills uniform. Most of the players that made this list turned out to be journeymen players and ended up playing for several different teams during their NFL career.
