The Denver Broncos are down a starting wide receiver after Tim Patrick was carted off the field during training camp. He tore his ACL and now has been ruled out for the season.

This could be the opening that former Buffalo Bills start wideout Cole Beasley has been looking for. Beasley who was released by the Bills this offseason has been waiting for the right opening to return to the NFL.

The Denver Broncos are in a "Win-Now" mode after trading for star Quarterback Russell Wilson and are looking to become more potent with their passing game. Beasley would fit in nicely in the absence of Patrick and Wilson likes to have a slot receiver who can come up with clutch catches.

Last season Beasley and Patrick had similar stats. Beasley had 82 catches for 692 yards and one touchdown. Patrick had 52 catches for 734 yards and five touchdowns.

Adding Beasley to the offensive would be a good step for the Broncos to make up for the loss of Patrick. Beasley would join a receiving core that includes Jerry Jeudy and not much else. Beasley could be the #2 receiver on the roster.

Plus Buffalo fans could get a chance to see Cole Beasley in person again as the Bills host the Broncos at Highmark Stadium for their second preseason game on August 20th.
