Cole Beasley Tweet Grabs Attention of Bills Mafia
The wide receiver, who is currently a free agent, replied to a tweet about his play that has Bills fans talking about his future.
Beasley with the Buffalo Bills
Beasley was signed by the Bills as a free agent for the 2019 season. He was an immediate high-impact player becoming a reliable target for a then-young Quarterback Josh Allen. He was among the team leaders in receptions and yards for 3 straight seasons before he was released going into the 2022 campaign. During that time he also set career highs in both categories.
Why Was Beasley Released?
He is 33 years old and many NFL experts would say he, like most players at this point, is on the down side of his career. Some feel he lost a step during the 2021 season because, while he had 82 catches, he only amassed 693 yards. The team wanted much more yards after the catch. So, they chose speedy receiver Isaiah McKenzie to replace him. There were also some rumors from fans that his political stances on the COVID-19 vaccine, as well as his relationship with some teammates, were cause for his release. This can not be confirmed, however, and ultimately his falling off in play is a reasonable assumption.
Beasley Comes Back
For the 2022 season, Cole went on the play briefly for the Tampa Buccaneers, but that did not go well. He caught 4 passes, was generally on the bench, and decided to retire. Late in the season, however, the Buffalo Bills called and brought him out of retirement and back to the field. He was up and down from the practice squad but eventually as playing time, and contributed decently in the playoffs, including a touchdown.
Where is Cole Beasley Now?
After the Bills were eliminated by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2nd round of the playoffs, Beasley once again became a free agent. As of today, the remains able to sign with any team. Many wonder if the Bills will bring him back.

On that note, Erik Turner of Cover 1 tweeted out some film of Beasley and his importance to the Bills' offense. Beasley retweeted this, with a couple of emojis, as seen here:
There is no doubt that when he was used properly and healthy, Beasley was a very important weapon. As shown above, he really helped open up their offense. So what do these emojis Beasley responded with mean? Here are some of the reactions to it from Twitter:
This seems like an obvious solution, doesn't it?
He probably wouldn't cost much either.
Some Bills fans want to see 2nd-year receiver Kalil Shakir in this role.
What do you think? Should the Bills bring back the veteran Cole Beasley? Or stick to younger players on the roster? Or maybe something else like a trade or free agent signing? Regardless, many in Bills Mafia want to see him back in Buffalo for the 2023 season.
