I got an email yesterday while I was playing golf, and usually I try not to answer emails all day while playing. But, this one was from Budweiser.

I signed up to be on their mailing list, and look at this new can that they are introducing come May 6.

The can will be available in 8-packs nationwide and is the result of a lot of hard work and can advancements and investments at the brewery's can-making facility in Newburgh, N.Y.

"We explored various shapes that would be distinguishable in the marketplace but also viable from an engineering standpoint," said Pat McGauley, vice president of innovation for Anheuser-Busch. "Aluminum can be stretched only about 10 percent without fracturing, which requires that the angles of the bow tie be very precise."

Budweiser's signature red bowtie has been an icon of Budweiser since it first appeared in 1956. Today, the bowtie can be found on Budweiser cans and pub signs around the world.

And now, this unique and striking new bowtie-shaped aluminum can will also pay tribute to the iconic Budweiser logo.

Remember, this coming Saturday, April 20, we're going to have TONS of beer out at Buffalo On Tap downtown at the Buffalo Convention Center!
