Governor Andrew Cuomo issued a further mandatory workforce reduction on Thursday morning across all of New York State with the exception of essential services. The latest directive states that each business needs to have at least 75% of its workforce working from home (or somewhere other than the business).

Cuomo ordered 75% of the workforce in non-essential services to stay at home, a 25% increase from a day earlier. Essential services include businesses dealing with food, pharmacies, healthcare, shipping and supplies.

He also provided another update on the coronavirus case count in New York State.

The number of coronavirus cases across the state surged to 4,152 — with 1,769 new infections confirmed overnight.
