Donate Winter Boots Now and Get a Free Beer

A local realtor is on a mission to put boots on the feet of those in need this holiday season in Buffalo, and she wants to give you a free beer. Vanessa Marino held her first boot drive in Buffalo last year when she teamed up with Buffalo City Mission and collected 100 pairs of boots for those in need. This year, she has her sights set even higher.

Vanessa, a local realtor with Howard Hanna, told us;

I decided to start the boot drive last year after being in the city for a run one night and seeing an overwhelming number of homeless people. Literally living in the streets. My heart hurt for them. When I went home I talked to my son Dakota about the homeless people in our city. I explained that there are people that go to bed hungry and don’t even have a home. That they are literally sleeping outside on our streets. I told him that we are going to help them and asked him what we could do to help them the most. His response was “ Buy them some boots!”

This year, she is looking to collect 500 pairs of boots, and she needs your help. She has teamed up with Keller Williams Realty, Cross Country Mortgage, The 716 Realty Group, The Buffalo City Mission, and a new partner, the Fattey Beer Company.

If you have new and unboxed boots, for any age or size, they can be dropped off at any of the five Fattey Beer Co. locations;

For every pair of boots donated, Cross Country Mortgage is going to treat you to a free pint of beer at any of the five Fattey Beer Co. Locations.

The older I get the more I realize that life is not about what we get but about what we GIVE, what we can contribute and who we become in the meantime!
