Two Western New York towns have the distinction of being among the best places to live in the state, in 2021.

Eggertsville and Williamsville ranked in the top 15 "Best Places to Live in New York" list from Niche.

The website, which focuses on schools and data, ranked towns based on "factors including public schools, crime and safety, housing, nightlife, diversity and how good the area is for families," according to Buffalo Business First.

Williamsville came in eighth on the list, scoring an A+ grade for public schools, being good for families, and health and wellness.

Niche said this about the village:

“Living in Williamsville offers residents a dense suburban feel, and most residents own their homes. In Williamsville there are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops and parks. Many young professionals and retirees live in Williamsville, and residents tend to lean conservative.”

Williamsville earned a B for cost of living and diversity, while getting A's in housing, commute and nightlife.

Eggertsville ranked at number 14 with similar grades, scoring A+ for nightlife and being good for families, and getting a B for cost of living.

“Living in Eggertsville offers residents a sparse suburban feel and most residents own their homes. In Eggertsville there are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops and parks. Many families and young professionals live in Eggertsville and residents tend to be liberal.” -Niche

Both towns earned their lowest grades -- a C-, because of the weather. And to be honest, we'd grade it the same way.
