As we get ready for the fall and winter months to arrive in Western New York, you may be thinking about the back-to-school routine for your family. For many, the regular routine means eating more dinners at home. As much fun as we have had this summer, it can get pricey eating eating on the go. There is a great opportunity to fill your family's freezer and help the hard working kid of the Erie County 4-H.

Have you been to the Erie County Fair this year? With great weather and great entertainment, the fair has been very successful this summer. But the heart and soul of the Erie County Fair would love you to come back for what is going to be a livestock auction like no other in Erie County and Western New York.

On Saturday, August 20th, the Erie County 4-H and FFA members will showcase their animals for sale. You still have time to become a buyer and support them as they offer swine, goats, chicken, sheep and beef!

4-H, FFA and Youth Livestock Expo will host their livestock auction on Saturday, August 20 at 3pm. This is a great opportunity for local individuals and companies to support our youth, while filling their freezer with high quality, locally raised meats.

Get to the livestock auction early this weekend to get your information registered and become a buyer. The money you spend can be used may be used as a tax deduction and goes to help the kids of The 4-H pay for college, save for next year's projects or help them pay for things that they are working toward such as a vehicle to drive.

Agriculture is what any county fair is truly all about. It is a way for our hardworking farmers and growers and producers to display and exhibit their work. There are still some in the community who don't really have an idea of where their food comes from our how it gets from the farm to their table. I encourage anyone to stop by the barns and the agriculture buildings and see what is happening and show your support!
