Is Brandon Beane Bad At His Job?
The Buffalo Bills have not played well over the last couple of weeks, and it seems that the lack of quality backups for injured players and star players is really hurting the team's chances of winning the big game.
Is Brandon Beane Bad At His Job?
First off, let's look at the good from Beane's tenure as the Bills' general manager. He drafted Tre White in the 2017 draft, and he was very good until he got injured. He drafted Josh Allen when most people in Buffalo wanted Josh Rosen, and Allen is an NFL MVP.
He drafted Spencer Brown, O'Cyrus Torrence, James Cook, Terrel Bernard, Christian Benford, and Khalil Shakir outside the 1st round, and they are all solid players.
Now, let's look at the bad. Beane drafted Kaiir Elam, Boogie Basham, A.J. Epenesa, and Greg Rousseau in the 1st or second round, and two were busts, while the other two are not the star players you expected from a high-round draft pick.
I think the other problem is that the other late-round draft picks like Damar Hamlin, Baylon Spector, Tommy Doyle, Justin Shorter, and DeWayne Carter have not panned out, whether it be a lack of talent or injury.
There are holes on both sides of the ball and even with the punter, so the question is, is Brandon Beane bad at his job?
What Do You Think Of Brandon Beane
I think he is an average general manager in the NFL. He works hard but has more misses than hits when it comes to high-round picks. Do that long enough, and you end up with a team like the Bills this year. Lack of Superstar players and talent on the bench when injuries happen. If the Bills don't make the Super Bowl, it might be time to move on.
