Fireworks At Hyde Park In The Falls – A Chille Family Staple
We can all relate to returning to the family home for holidays...Christmas, Thanksgiving...the 4th of July? Wait a minute...you might return on the 4th of July for a family cookout, but the BIG event was fireworks which you would usually travel to see.
Not the Chille family and not in Niagara Falls. I grew up about a block away from Hyde Park in the Falls. That meant easy access to softball diamonds, Sal Maglie Stadium, The Hyde Park Pool in the Summer, skating in the Winter, and Fireworks!
It was a great place to live, great neighbors and we all sat in our lawn chairs or on the back of the family station wagon in the alley between Linwood and Willow Avenues to watch the Fireworks display at Hyde Park.
The dazzle, kids screaming, the sound of garage doors rattling when the big ones went off...and we didn't have to fight the traffic getting there or returning.
Those looking to watch fireworks on the Fourth of July can add our favorite Hyde Park in Niagara Falls to their list of places to check out.
The fireworks display at Hyde Park is back this year after a hiatus due to the pandemic last Independence Day according to WIVB-TV. Mayor Robert Restaino adds that residents of the Cataract City can expect more events to resume now following the lifting of COVID-19 mandates.
The festivities will kick off at dusk.
“The City of Niagara Falls is proud to be able to resume the fireworks display at Hyde Park on our Nations birthday,” said Mayor Restaino. “With the celebrations seen throughout the state, it seems fitting to bring back the fireworks at Hyde Park,” said Mayor Restaino.
