It's a sad day in Hollywood.

"Happy Gilmore" is an iconic film that was released in 1996, starring Adam Sandler. It's one of the comic legend's biggest films that people to this day quote and love re-watching. It also starred Julie Bowen, Carl Weathers, and noted Buffalo Bills fan and Bills Mafia member Christopher McDonald as "Shooter McGavin."

Shooter McGavin The Buffalo Bills Fan

McDonald didn't grow up here, but is good friends with Hall of Famer Jim Kelly. Over the years, he has endeared himself to Buffalo Bills fans by going to games and showing his love for the team in traditional and social media. Here is is talking to Rich Eisen about the Bills.

It's really neat seeing such an iconic actor be a big fan of your team. It's also hilarious when he works in his evil "Shooter McGavin" character into the fandom. Shooter was the ultimate bad guy, as seen here:

We are excited to see McDonald reprise his role in "Happy Gilmore 2" on July 25! Sadly, though, he and the rest of the cast will be mourning the loss of one of their infamous co-stars.

Happy Gilmore Star Passes Away

One of the most infamous characters in Happy Gilmore has died. He was 80 years old, but will never be forgotten. OK, enough of the tease: we are sad to report that Morris, who played the hand-eating alligator in the original movie, has passed away. A warning, this video is pretty emotional...

Morris also appeared in "Doctor Doolittle 2" with Eddie Murphy. He was the oldest gator at his retirement home, the Colorado Gators Reptile Park.

The individual in the video above noted that they think he was 80, but may have been as old as 100.

Among his other career highlights are going on "The Tonight Show," appearing in "Interview With a Vampire," and, yes, he met the Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin.

We're sad to learn of Morris's passing. Carl Weathers, who passed in 2024, will have a new friend in heaven.

Here's a look at the highly anticipated sequel to Happy Gilmore:
