When the Bills lost last night, one of the resounding themes that came across during the post-game interviews was about how the team wouldn't look the same next year.

It's all part of the process.  Teams get better and worse through free agency and the draft.  The hard part about it all is that in order for a team to really function as a family, there has to be some kind of bond between the players.  Unfortunately, when a season ends, they all know that it means they will probably not all be together in the same way again the next year.

Almost every player that gave a post-game interview after the game last night seemed to be most upset that they didn't get it done this year because they all agreed, they won't take the field with the same players next year.

Players only sign contracts for a specific number of years for a lot of reasons.  One of them is that when their contracts are then up, they'll be able to possibly make more money somewhere else.  That's the case for a lot of free agents.  They play this game to make money.  And if they can make more somewhere else, they're literally "free" to go to another team that will offer them more.

For some players though, the chance at winning a championship is worth more than any amount of money that they can offer.  So they'll choose to stay with that team that offers them that opportunity.  The hard part is that just like any other job, it's a two-way street.  The team has to be willing to pay them in order for them to have a spot on the roster.

So who are the free agents that the Bills will need to lock up for the 2022-2023 season?  Who will make the cut?

Here are the free agents that are due for new contracts or cuts this year.  Who do you think will still be here next year?
